Since 1963, the Adelaide Graduate School of Business has grown considerably in curriculum and student numbers, with more than 1,500 students currently enrolled in a range of management education programs in Adelaide and overseas. To keep pace with this growth, the School has expanded its staff and facilities. Student and staff enjoy first class, air-conditioned facilities, located in the commercial centre of Adelaide directly opposite the main University campus.
The School has developed a reputation as a provider of first class management education. Graduates command high salaries and many occupy senior management positions in Australia and throughout the world.
The School's offshore activities commenced in 1997 when the MBA program was first offered in Singapore. This initiative was the result of a 50/50 joint venture partnership between the University and the Ngee Ann Kongsi. A new organisation, the Ngee Ann-Adelaide Education Centre Pte Ltd resulted from the partnership. In 2001, the School teamed with Hopkins Training and Education Group in Hong Kong to offer the MBA program.
In 2002 the School's name changed from the Graduate School of Management to the more distinctive identity: Adelaide Graduate School of Business. Business is a broader and more contemporary term than management and it reflects the School's emphasis on serving the entire business community.
Established in 1874, the University of Adelaide is one of Australia's finest universities and it has a strong international reputation. It enjoys status as a first rate, forward-looking and innovative university. It has produced three Nobel Prize winners and many Rhodes Scholars and it regularly attracts more research funding per capita than any university in Australia.
In line with that reputation for innovation, in 1963 the University of Adelaide established the first MBA program in South Australia and one of the first in Australia. |
